Dr. Atul Mathur serves as the Chairman of Interventional Cardiology and Chief of the Cath Lab at Fortis Escorts Heart Institute, New Delhi. He is also the President of the Indian Council for Carotid Therapeutics, India.
A pioneer in complex coronary procedures, Dr. Mathur has extensive expertise in the fields of:
Endovascular Interventions – Carotid stenting, aortic graft stenting, peripheral arterial and venous angioplasty
Structural Heart Interventions – TAVR, Miracle, LAAO, BMV, and adult VSD closure He is the first Indian doctor to receive a US patent for a medical device used in Carotid Artery Stenting. In addition to personally performing thousands of advanced procedures, he has established a Centre of Excellence, which conducts regular training courses for Indian physicians in carotid interventions.
Dr. Mathur has also authored several hundred research publications, widely recognized by both national and international experts. Many of the procedures he introduced for the first time in India have since become standard practice across the country.
His illustrious career is further strengthened by his academic and clinical training at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, and the University of Alabama at Birmingham, USA.
