Dr. Anita Saxena has joined as Executive Director, Paediatric Cardiology at Fortis Escorts, Okhla Road, New Delhi. She is a highly respected cardiologist with over 40 years of experience in patient care, teaching, research, and administration.
Previously, she served as the Chief of the Cardiothoracic Centre and Head of the Department of Cardiology at AIIMS, New Delhi. She has played a pivotal role in advancing pediatric cardiology in India by pioneering fetal cardiac diagnostic services and helping frame national guidelines for the management of pediatric heart diseases.
Her contributions to academic research are remarkable, with 368 research publications to her credit. In 2023, she was named among the world’s top 2% scientists. Dr. Saxena has mentored more than 40 doctoral students and delivered over 200 lectures across India. Currently, she also serves as the Vice Chancellor of Pt. B.D. Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak, overseeing multiple health-related institutions.
On the international front, Dr. Saxena established pediatric cardiology services at the University of Manitoba, Canada, and has represented India at more than 60 global forums.
For her outstanding service, she has received Lifetime Achievement Awards from both the Cardiological Society of India and the Pediatric Cardiac Society of India.
