Dr. K. K. Handa is one of India’s most respected laryngologists, voice surgeons, and cochlear implant specialists, with over 36 years of experience in ENT and Head & Neck Surgery. He currently serves as Chairman, ENT and Head & Neck Surgery at Medanta, a role he has held since the hospital’s inception in 2009.
Before joining Medanta, Dr. Handa spent 13 years as a faculty member at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, where he served as an Associate Professor in the Department of ENT. Earlier in his career, he also trained as a Senior Resident at PGIMER, Chandigarh, gaining strong academic and clinical foundations.
Dr. Handa is recognized nationally as a leader in voice and laser surgery and is regarded as one of the foremost experts in these fields in the country. His clinical expertise includes laryngology, phonosurgery, laser-assisted ENT procedures, cochlear implantation, endoscopic sinus surgery, microscopic ear surgery, and head and neck surgery.
A strong contributor to professional leadership, Dr. Handa is the former President of the Association of Phono-Surgeons of India and also served as its Founder Secretary, playing a key role in advancing voice surgery in India. He further enhanced his expertise through a Commonwealth Teachers’ Fellowship for Laser Training at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary, United Kingdom, in 2004.
