Dr. Ashok Vaid – Best Medical and Haemato Oncology Specialist
.Dr. Ashok Kumar Vaid is a highly respected and board-certified Medical Oncologist and a pioneer in the field of stem cell transplantation in India. He holds the distinction of establishing one of North India’s largest private-sector Stem Cell Transplant programs, where he personally carried out the first 25 bone marrow transplants, setting a strong foundation for advanced cancer care.
Currently serving as Chairman – Medical Oncology, Hematology, and Stem Cell Transplant at the Medanta Cancer Institute, Gurugram, Dr. Vaid brings over four decades of clinical experience. His areas of special interest include cancer genomics, immunotherapy-based treatment guidance, precision oncology, dendritic cell therapy, and stem cell transplantation.
Dr. Vaid earned his DM in Medical Oncology from Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai. A prolific academician, he has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and has played a leading role in more than 40 national and international clinical research studies, including several as Principal Investigator. He is also widely recognized for organizing and leading national and international seminars, workshops, and scientific conferences.
In addition to his clinical and research contributions, Dr. Vaid is a postgraduate teacher registered with the National Board of Examinations and serves as a university examiner for super-specialty Medical Oncology programs, contributing actively to training the next generation of oncologists.
In recognition of his exceptional contributions to medicine, Dr. Vaid was awarded the Padma Shri by the President of India in 2009, one of the nation’s highest civilian honors.
